Description

Position Summary:
The Director of Waiver Services oversees the day-to-day administrative operations of the Waiver and Service Coordination Department.  The Director is responsible for creating employee work schedules, monitoring budgets, maintaining participant records, ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, standards and protocols that govern the Waiver programs and services provided by the Company.   The Director maintains policies and procedures, provides education and mentorship to the staff as needed and assures the Mission, Vision and Values are adopted and followed in the execution of the daily operations of the Company.

Salary: 75K yearly

Qualifications:

  • Must possess either:
    • Master of Science degree in Social Work;   OR
    • Master of Science in Psychology; OR
    • Current licensed by NY State as either a Physical Therapist, Registered Professional Nurse, Speech-Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist; OR
    • Current license in NY State as a Certified Special Education Teacher; OR
    • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor as certified by the Commission of Rehabilitation Counselors.
  • Experience must be as follows:
    • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a health care services administration, public health, social services or administrative services.
    • Must have at least three (3) years of experience as a supervisor of two (2) or more professionals.
    • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and medical terminology.
    • Must have at least one (1) year experience with providing service coordination and information, linkages and referrals regarding community-based services for individuals with disabilities and/or seniors.
  • Previous experience with NY State regulations and compliance requirements as related to NY State Medicaid waiver programs preferred.    Previous experience with Medicaid and Medicare and participation in community agency activities is preferred.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skills.
  • Must possess the disposition and personality to work harmoniously with a wide variety of people and all levels of staff, patients and families.  Must have the ability to deal with abrupt schedule changes and to maintain objectivity in coping with stress of working with acute, chronic and terminally ill people.
  • Experience with contract management, budgets and community liaison activities beneficial.
